A Day in the life
This week was kind of a long one in open studio. I started off the week with having some difficulty uploading my photos to Weebly because of their format (I shot in raw over the weekend). After that, I took Tuesday to try put together a cool panorama and Wednesday to try and focus on a specific photo to edit. Both editing sessions turned out OK, but I never really created something I absolutely loved (I have attached one photo from each session to this post). I ended up not printing and matting any photos this week, but I may come back next week and find one that I really like that fits in well with the portfolio that I will create. I was also gone Thursday and will most likely come in next week during 4th period one day to make that time up. All in all, it was a great learning week and I really refined my vision of what I want my portfolio to be and how I want to shoot my photos.

*This is a make-up assignment for my missing Week 5 blog post
In the week that we experimented with Lightroom, I really came to like the program although I found it somewhat limiting compared to Photoshop. I found that the editing tools it has really lends itself to Portrait or bulk editing but not as much for more intensive edits with a lot of details. I worked on photos that I took during my self-portrait shoot, and - using the the black and white settings - the edits turned out pretty good. In my own work, I feel like I will use Lightroom when I have a specific portrait that needs to be edited or need to make lighter, more subtle edits. Photoshop is still my photo-editor-of-choice though. PORTFOLIO OVERVIEWGeneral Idea: My portfolio will consist of photos at/from the top of mountains around Durango. Each weekend I will shoot a different mountain, taking pictures from the top looking down on Durango as well as photos of the mountain from the base/other good vantage points.
